What’s Holding Us Back?

What are we doing?

How can we let thousands of people die every day without hearing the gospel? I had a conversation with one of my friends recently. He asked this question: How can a loving God allow millions of people to die without ever having the choice to follow Him? Why do people go to hell when they haven’t even been given a chance?

Wow. What would you say?

I believe that God can reveal Himself to people in many ways, and if we seek Him we will find Him. However, humans are naturally sinful – they naturally reject God. Besides that, the hard truth is that God commands us – Christians – to tell the world about Jesus. We have the honor, the privilege, and the responsibility.

Jesus Himself said these famous words:

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Matthew 28:19-20

The fact that there are millions of people who have never been confronted with the choice between Life and death is one of the saddest things in the history of planet earth.

People in Africa, Asia, South America. Yes, even the United States!

Imagine a world where every precious human heart was fully exposed to the love of Christ. That would be a beautiful world.

What’s holding us back? Come on Christians, what’s holding us back from telling the world about the Life we’ve found? We can make a difference. We can be used by God. That’s amazing.

Come on America, wake up!

Come on Tim, wake up.

  1. Wow, God has been speaking this SAME message to my heart. God is trying to wake His church up!!! We need to get busy shining for Him and doing His work while it is day. Great reminder, Tim.

    1. So true! I love how you said “while it is day”. Like 2 Timothy says, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” We do need to do something, and it starts now.
